The 3 principles of the Rene Furterer method
Founded on thorough knowledge of scalp and hair, the method developed by Rene Furterer in 1957 is both complete and continually evolved.
Its originality lies mostly in the treatment of the scalp because beautiful hair depends on a healthy scalp.
Working on the principle that a beautiful plant can only grow in good soil, Rene Furterer has made the following observation: Hair can only look beautiful and grow when the scalp is healthy.
We have therefore developed a method based on three leading principles:
- A thorough diagnosis of the scalp and hair
- Special brushing and massaging techniques
- Made-for-measure hair care programs.
Diagnosis:

The diagnosis and the personalized scalp and hair examination establish a suitable hair care program, designed for application at home.
Note: It is preferable to conduct a diagnosis on hair left unwashed for at lease 48 hours.
The introduction will start with a diagnosis questionnaire. Then followed by a Capilia Scope or a Predictor
Brushing techniques:
Performed daily, its rids hair of dirt (dead cells, pollution..)
Brushing should be done with the help of 2 clean, round or semi-round brushes.
With one brush in each hand, brush hair from the nape of the neck to the forehead. Then from the sides to the tope of the head and finally from the forehead toward the nape of the neck
Massaging techniques:
This is one of the key points of the Rene Furterer method, which must be put in practice in order to ensure successful treatment.
The massages have a common goal:
- To relax the scalp and make it supple
- To improve blood irrigation
- To promote lymphatic exchanges
- To promote the penetration of active principles contained in the treatment products
